The existing 250 kVA pad mounted transformer was removed and replaced with a new 250 kVA transformer. The new transformer arrived on site on a flatbed truck through the helicopter gate, parked on the side of the tarmac where it would not interfere with Coast Guard operations. A section of trellised privacy fence adjacent to the transformer pad was temporarily removed. The circuit to the existing transformer was de-energized and secondary breaker wires and panel removed. A forklift lifted the existing transformer from the pad and set the transformer on the flatbed truck. The new transformer was lifted from the truck and transported to and placed on the pad. Secondary breaker and wire were installed and the primary 15 Kv wire re-connected. The circuit was re-energized and the transformer tested. As part of the work, the underground secondary electrical feeder from the transformer to the main switchboard was removed and replaced.
