The owner required a new permanent generator for this mission critical building. The existing generator was removed by crane to a flatbed truck and transported to a holding area. A new housekeeping concrete slab was constructed at the site of the existing generator. Work included all site and utility alterations necessary to accommodate the new generator footprint and utility layout requirements. This included extension of associated power, control and lease line conduits and cable. Modification No. 2 was issued to install additional electrical underground conduits for exterior lighting, rerouting of designed conduit runs and additional trench pull boxes and associated equipment. The new 150kW generator, supplied by the owner, was installed on the new housekeeping pad. The building’s temporary generator was required to remain operational during construction.
