Cerrudo Services removed all the remaining structures located on the Hamilton Army Air Field. Hazardous material surveys were commissioned prior to demolition of the structures. The surveys determined the presence of both lead and asbestos that required abatement.
Cerrudo demolished a 15,000 SF metal building, two wood frame structures and three concrete masonry buildings including the concrete foundations of each structure. Soil was excavated to a depth of 6” within the footprint of each building and stockpiled. The material was then characterized for lead contaminated waste disposal. Also removed were approximately 30 utility poles, 1,000 LF of chain link fencing, electrical transformers and miscellaneous debris throughout the property. A portion of the work was performed in an unexploded ordinance area requiring a specialized subcontractor to clear the areas where work was to be completed.
