Cerrudo Services constructed the gap closure at the K-2C primary border fence along the US1BWC Levee in Texas. The K-2C Gap closure was a logistically complex construction project that required work in nine locations over a distance of approximately ten miles. The fence and gates were constructed at the crest of the US side of the levee crown road between the road and an irrigation canal. During construction of the project the canal was filled with flowing water which restricted access and usable work area on the U.S. side of the construction centerline. The slide gate design requirements, gate fabrication time, access restrictions and the impact of work progress associated with concrete cure time duration mandated a perfectly executed contract to meet the 120 calendar day completion date.
